Students are able to communicate effectively in Spanish in three modes: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational, and in a culturally appropriate manner in a variety of social and professional settings and circumstances at the Advanced Low level of language proficiency, according to ACTFL Guidelines
Reflection: All the courses that I took as I pursued my Bachelors of Arts in Spanish Language and Hispanic Culture here at Cal State Monterey Bay helped me fulfill Major Learning Outcome one. They all were very useful because we were required to speak Spanish in most of the courses that I was enrolled in. I was able to practice my presentation skills as well as my communication skills. Before I took majority of these courses I was always afraid to present in public and in the courses where we were required to do a presentation really helped me work on my public speaking skills especially in the target language, in this case being Spanish.
